Mark the drive as Commute
Woon-werkverkeer is the drive between your home and your regular workplace. In DriveHub it is its own answer, Commute, beside Business and Personal.
Commute drives count in the IB distance on the Netherlands · IB and VAT card. They never count as business kilometres for VAT.
- Open Settings → Country and choose Netherlands.
- Choose your situation under How you use this car. The next section explains what each choice does.
- Mark each home–work trip as Commute. Trips → For you → Need to check shows the three answers, and so does any saved trip.
- Open Reports, choose the car and read the Netherlands · IB and VAT card.

Your choice under How you use this car decides what is priced
Settings → Country → How you use this car changes what Commute does.
With Self-employed, my own car, or Employed, reimbursed for my own car, DriveHub counts Commute kilometres like business kilometres in the report amount.
With A company or business-owned car, there is no amount per kilometre. Commute kilometres stay out of the private kilometres, and the Official rate screen says they do not count as private driving for the 500 km test.
With Employed, my employer pays nothing, DriveHub calculates no amount per kilometre for the Netherlands.
- Open Settings → Country.
- Tap How you use this car and choose the line that describes your car.
- Open Official rate to read what the app says about your choice.

Answer new trips and fix older ones
A trip you have not answered yet waits under Need to check, and the report keeps it out of the figures until you answer. Choose Commute for the drive to work.
Trips you filed as Personal earlier can be changed one by one, or many at once with Review Trips.
- Open Trips → For you → Need to check and answer each trip.
- For older trips, open the trip and choose Commute in the Trip type control.
- To change many together, use Review Trips, tap Select, choose the trips and tap Commute.

Income tax and VAT are shown separately
The Netherlands · IB and VAT card keeps the two taxes apart. For a whole calendar year it lists each car with IB: the business plus home–work kilometres, and the home–work part on its own.
For a shorter period the card shows IB distance with the home–work kilometres included, and the VAT business distance. The VAT amount is calculated for a complete calendar year, per car.
For Self-employed, my own car, the card shows the Official IB deduction: DriveHub uses € 0,23 per kilometre for 2025 and € 0,25 for 2026. Official rate explains the 2026 change.
For VAT, only business kilometres count as business. Commute and Personal kilometres count as private use.
- Open Reports and choose the calendar year.
- Choose the car in the vehicle filter, then read the Netherlands · IB and VAT card.
- Tap Edit car VAT and expenses to open Dutch IB & VAT. There you set the VAT asset (Private asset or Business asset), add car invoices and answer the KOR question.

If the card shows no amount
A trip that waits for an answer, a held trip or a trip that crosses New Year makes the card say Official IB deduction: insufficient trip data. Answer or confirm those trips and the figure appears.
The line Choose a car to see separate IB and VAT figures means no Dutch car has trips in that year yet, or no car is chosen. Choose the car in the vehicle filter.
The line No statutory per-kilometre IB amount for this car or year. means DriveHub has no official IB figure for that car. It appears when How you use this car is not Self-employed, my own car, when the car is not set as your own car under Whose car is this?, or when the year is outside 2024 to 2026. The card still shows the kilometres.
- Open Trips → For you → Need to check and answer what is waiting.
- Open the Needs you card for held trips and confirm or remove each one.
- Check the trips around 31 December and 1 January.
- If the card says there is no statutory amount, open Settings → Country → How you use this car and check the line, then check the car's ownership under Whose car is this?.

Use a Custom Rate with the Netherlands selected
Custom Rate works while a country is chosen. Use it when your employer or adviser gives you a different amount per kilometre.
For a full calendar year, the card then shows the Mileage amount at selected rate on its own, once your trips have priced amounts in euros. Keep Currency at EUR, or the line is left out. The Official IB deduction stays at the official figure, because the two are calculated separately.
- Open Settings → Custom Rate. With several cars, choose the car first.
- Enter the amount, then check Currency, Rate is per and Applies to.
- Tap Save. When you change an existing rate, choose From today for a new rate or All trips — correct a mistake for a correction.
- To go back to the official figure, open Custom Rate and tap Remove Custom Rate. Your trips are kept.
