Why does DriveHub need “Always” location access?Getting started

A drive normally starts with the phone in a pocket and the app closed. With “While Using the App”, iOS lets DriveHub use location only while it is on screen — so the first minutes of every trip, and often the whole trip, would be lost. “Always” is what lets the app start recording by itself. Turn on Precise Location too: without it, distances can be inaccurate. With iCloud enabled, your trips also sync through Apple's iCloud. Maps and address features may send coordinates or search text to Apple. You choose whether to share or export trips. Step-by-step guide →

Settings → Tracking & detection → Tracking & permissions

Can I move my history from another app?Getting started

Yes, and it is free. Export your history from Driversnote, MileIQ or Everlance, then pick the file in DriveHub (for anything but Driversnote, choose “Another app or a spreadsheet”). Both CSV and Excel are read, the columns are detected automatically, and you see what the importer understood before anything is saved. Trips you already have are matched on start time and distance and skipped, and imported trips keep their original dates. Step-by-step guide →

Reports → Import from Another App

How do I add a drive the app never saw?Getting started

Add it yourself and it counts in reports like any other trip — the report row simply notes it was added by hand. This is the right fix when the phone was off, flat or in Airplane Mode — recovery can only rebuild driving iOS itself logged, so in those cases there is nothing to recover from. Step-by-step guide →

Trips → Add a past trip

I have a new phone, or two devices.Getting started

With iCloud enabled, your trips also sync through Apple's iCloud. Sign both devices into the same Apple Account with iCloud on, and a new or restored phone brings the trips back (only trips successfully synced to iCloud can return). iOS permissions do not transfer, so the app asks for them again; grant them and tracking resumes. Step-by-step guide →

What does “Missed drives” mean?Tracking

Every time you open the app, and regularly in the background, DriveHub re-reads the motion history iOS keeps on your phone and compares it with what it recorded. If iOS logged driving that DriveHub has no trip for, a Missed drives story appears under For you at the top of the Trips tab. Open it and tap Recover: the route is rebuilt along the likely roads using Apple Maps, so recovery needs a connection. If it was not a drive, tap Not a drive; driving it cannot rebuild can be added by hand.

A gap does not stay on that list for ever; older unmatched driving is still written to the app's Activity Log rather than disappearing. Step-by-step guide →

Trips → For you → Missed drives → Recover

A trip is still missing after I tap Recover. What now?Tracking

Recovery can only reconstruct what iOS itself logged, so if the phone was off, in Airplane Mode or out of battery there is nothing to recover from — add the trip by hand instead. If trips go missing repeatedly, open Tracking & permissions: it shows each permission and detection source and whether it is on. Low Power Mode pauses background work, and DriveHub warns you when it is on — no app can override it. If it still happens, email us and we will help you read what the tracker saw. Step-by-step guide →

Settings → Tracking & detection → Tracking & permissions

The trip starts a few hundred metres late.Tracking

It should not: DriveHub keeps track of where the phone has recently been, so when GPS wakes up the real starting point is filled in backwards. A start that still looks late usually means the drive began where the phone had no recent position — a garage, an underground car park, a phone that was off. If a start is wrong for any other reason, tell us: that is a bug worth a release.

Does it drain my battery?Tracking

DriveHub relies on the significant-location and motion services iOS runs anyway, and switches precise GPS on only around a drive, not all day. You can check the real number in iOS Settings → Battery, where DriveHub is listed like any other app.

iOS Settings → Battery

Can I stop it recording during my own time?Tracking

Working hours decide whether a drive is business or personal, not whether it is recorded. For manual recording, turn off Automatic Detection and Car Bluetooth and disable any Shortcuts automations that start trips. Then start and end trips yourself. Step-by-step guide →

Settings → Tracking & detection → Tracking & permissions

How are trips filed as business or personal?Tracking

Five ways, in order. A place's own rule always wins. Next, DriveHub works out the type from your past drives on the same route (you can turn this off). Working hours and the optional work calendar — event titles around the trip, read on the phone — file what is left. Anything still uncertain waits under Need to check at the top of the Trips tab: one trip per page, tap Business, Personal or Commute.

In most countries the drive between home and your regular workplace is a commute, not deductible business mileage. DriveHub does not decide that for you — mark those drives Commute and check your tax authority's rule. How Commute works → Step-by-step guide →

Settings → Tracking & detection → Working hours

What is free and what is Pro?Reports & Pro

Recording, classifying and reviewing trips is free forever with no trip limit — including the completeness check, recovery, import, the totals on screen, widgets, the Lock Screen view of a drive and CarPlay. Pro adds the paperwork: PDF, Excel and CSV reports, and the DATEV, SIE and Procountor accounting exports. If a subscription ends your trips stay: nothing is deleted, nothing is locked, you lose the export. Step-by-step guide →

Reports

Which countries’ mileage rates are built in?Reports & Pro

Twenty-nine: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Slovenia, Malta, Belgium, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Ireland, Iceland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, South Africa and Thailand. Each figure is dated to its official source, so a trip is valued at the rate in force on the day it happened, including changes that take effect mid-year. France has no rate per kilometre: DriveHub works its barème out for the year, car by car, from the fiscal horsepower. Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary have no single figure: DriveHub works your rate out from your car’s fuel consumption. Any other country works through a custom rate you set yourself.

The figures are for convenience — confirm yours with your tax authority or adviser before filing. If a rate in the app no longer matches your tax authority, email us: that is a bug. Step-by-step guide →

Settings → Country / Official rate / Custom Rate

I paid but the app doesn’t show Pro.Reports & Pro

Tap Restore Purchases. Make sure the device is signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase — a purchase belongs to an Apple Account, not to a phone. Step-by-step guide →

Settings → DriveHub Pro → Restore Purchases

How do I cancel a subscription, or get a refund?Reports & Pro

Subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple, not by us, so they are cancelled in your Apple Account. Cancelling at least 24 hours before the renewal date stops the next charge, and access continues to the end of the paid period. Cancelling during a free trial costs nothing. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Step-by-step guide →

iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions

Where is my data, and how do I delete it?Privacy

Delete All My Data removes app-managed trips, places, vehicles, trip-recovery records and driving/tracking preferences on this device and requests corresponding iCloud changes. It does not reset every system or app preference. Changes may take time to sync. Accumulated local performance and crash diagnostics are also deleted. New diagnostics may be collected afterwards. A small technical marker containing the erasure date and cleanup status is kept to prevent old diagnostic payloads from returning; it contains no trip data. This does not erase operating-system backups or exported copies. Stopping sharing takes effect when iCloud confirms the change; offline revocation may be delayed. Screenshots, exports and copies others saved cannot be recalled. Recovery is not guaranteed: keep your own exports. We may receive support messages and attachments you send, and crash reports you choose to share through Apple. Deleting the app removes only the copy on that device. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.

A single trip you delete is kept in Recently Deleted — at the end of the Trips list, and in Settings — for 30 days on that iPhone, so a mistake can be undone. Delete All My Data empties it too from version 1.5.2; on an earlier version, delete those trips from Recently Deleted yourself. Step-by-step guide →

Settings → Delete All My Data

Does anything leave my phone?Privacy

The app downloads the public mileage-rate file, with no personal data in the request. Maps, place names, address search, rebuilt routes and the optional PDF route maps use Apple Maps, which receives only the coordinates or text each request needs. Recording, classification and reports happen on the device. With iCloud enabled, your trips also sync through Apple's iCloud. You choose whether to share or export trips. We may receive support messages and attachments you send, and crash reports you choose to share through Apple. Step-by-step guide →

Privacy Policy → What leaves your phone

How do I change the app's language, or use dark mode?Getting started

Open Settings → Display. Language lists the languages DriveHub is translated into; after you choose one, restart DriveHub to finish switching. Appearance sets System, Light or Dark. Dark mode uses its own palette, not a dimmed copy of the light one.

Settings → Display → Language / Appearance

Why was a recovered trip not kept?Tracking

A recovered drive whose start and end can't be named isn't kept, because a trip with no addresses can't be claimed. It stays listed under Missed drives to add by hand. If you would rather keep the kilometres without addresses, turn on Keep recoveries without an address. Step-by-step guide →

Settings → Tracking & detection → Keep recoveries without an address

Subscription terms

DriveHub Pro is offered as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in your local currency in the app before you buy. The monthly plan starts with a free week and the annual plan with a free month, for first-time subscribers; a trial becomes a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Subscriptions are managed, and auto-renew turned off, in your Apple Account settings. An unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and does not renew. See the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.
