SUPPORT / HOW TO
Choose and change your mileage rate
The amount depends on the date of the trip, the vehicle and the settings that apply to it. Check those before changing a rate.

Choose the filing country and distance unit
In current versions, Country, Official rate, Custom Rate and Distance Unit are separate rows in Settings. Earlier versions group some of these under Rate & units. Use the settings search if you cannot find a row.
- Open Settings → Country and choose the country relevant to your log. Complete the region or How you use this car choices if offered.
- Choose Distance Unit for how distances are displayed.
- Check the vehicle’s ownership and any Rate country override under Settings → Vehicles.

Read the rate and its conditions
Open Official rate to see the country figure and its explanation. Built-in rates use dated source information; a historical trip can use a different figure from today’s. Some calculations depend on bands, vehicle details or a whole reporting period rather than one flat rate.
- Read the explanation and Important information for the selected country.
- Check the vehicle details before deciding a total is wrong.
- Confirm the source and rules relevant to your own filing. Do not replace a rate just to make an expected total appear.

Enter your documented rate
Use Custom Rate for a rate supplied by your employer or another documented rate that applies to you. The rate’s unit is independent of the display unit: enter a per-mile rate as per mile even if you view distances in kilometres.
- Open Settings → Custom Rate. If several vehicles are listed, choose the car the rate applies to.
- Enter the amount, currency and Rate is per unit; check the stated vehicle or scope.
- Save and check a relevant trip or report. If a Rate source choice is shown, confirm whether that car uses the official, shared custom or vehicle-specific rate.

Choose whether the change is new or a correction
When changing an existing custom rate, DriveHub asks how to apply it. From today keeps the old rate for earlier trips. All trips — correct a mistake can change historical calculated amounts. Files you already exported do not update themselves.
- Use From today for a rate that starts now.
- Use the historical correction option only when the earlier rate was wrong and you intend to recalculate past trips.
- Check the affected report period and export a new file if needed.
