Check that Per diem is offered

Per diem is available for Austria, Croatia and South Africa. In Austria it is offered for every car use. In Croatia and South Africa it is offered when How you use this car says you are not self-employed with your own car.

1. Open Settings → Country and check the country and How you use this car.
2. Tap Additional calculations, choose the Year and find Per diem.
3. Answer Yes to Do you want to track per diems for work trips away from home?

Open the per diems for a period

Per diems belong to you, not to a car. The card asks you to choose All Vehicles first. Then it shows Per diems · your country with Set up per diems.

1. Open Reports and choose the period. Choose All Vehicles in the vehicle filter.
2. Tap Set up per diems on the card.
3. Read How it works and open Rates and rules for the rates the app uses.

Confirm the suggested journeys

DriveHub suggests business journeys from your log under Suggested from your log. Tap one to review it. If it was not a business journey, tap Not a business journey.

For a journey the log did not catch, tap Add a journey by hand. Enter the start and end times, the place and the purpose.

1. Tap a suggested journey and check the times. The log records when the car moved, so change the times if you left or came back at another time.
2. Turn on These times are right and this was a business journey, then save.
3. Enter the nights away and the meals the employer paid for, where asked.

What the country asks

Austria: a place is a municipality, and all of Vienna is one place. Tagesgeld stops after 5 days at a place you work at continuously or weekly, or after 15 days a year at a place you visit irregularly. The Places section records the visit pattern. DriveHub does not calculate Tagesgeld for a region or fixed route.

Croatia: choose a Service trip (službeno putovanje) or Field work (rad na terenu), then the nights and meals.

South Africa: the journey asks about nights away and meals. Count only the nights you actually stayed away. The car being away does not show that you were.

Read the total for the period

Total for this period adds the confirmed journeys. Lines tell you what is missing: journeys that need answers before an amount is stated, and journeys without a start date, which are in no total.
