SUPPORT / HOW TO

Compare your odometer with your trip log

Two readings from the same car give a distance to compare with the trips recorded between them.

Copy the actual value from the car

Open Settings → Vehicles → your car and use Add Starting Odometer or Add Odometer Reading. Enter the total displayed by the car, not the distance of the latest trip. The unit beside the field must match the value you are entering.

  1. Select the right car and check the unit before entering the number.
  2. Enter the dashboard reading and the date it was taken. Do not enter today’s value under an earlier date.
  3. Save and check the reading in that vehicle’s list.

Compare one vehicle over a matching period

The vehicle screen compares usable readings with recorded trips over the window they define. This uses the total recorded distance for the car, not only its business mileage. Without two increasing readings, the app cannot make that comparison. A check based on readings inside a period does not measure days outside that window.

  1. Add a later reading for the same car, then read the comparison in its detail screen.
  2. Check the dates and make sure the readings describe the period you intend to verify.
  3. In Reports, check the selected vehicle and period, and use the relevant odometer actions in Ready to file? when offered.

Check inputs and trip assignments before backfilling

A difference can come from an incorrect reading, a wrong unit, a trip assigned to another car, or driving that was not recorded on this phone. It does not identify a missing route by itself. Do not add a fictional trip just to make the numbers agree.

  1. Compare the entered values and units with your own odometer records.
  2. Check the car’s recorded trips and their vehicle assignments, including personal drives and drives made without this phone.
  3. For a real missing drive, check Missed drives or add the known journey by hand.

Choose reminders and handle a changed odometer

Settings → Tracking & detection → Ask for Odometer offers reminder intervals, including Never. Readings can still be entered manually. A lower reading is accepted with a warning, for example after an instrument replacement; the comparison needs a new increasing pair after that change.

  1. Choose a reminder interval you can follow, and allow the relevant notifications.
  2. For a mistaken saved reading, remove it from the vehicle’s list after checking the confirmation, then add the correct value and date.
  3. Keep genuine older readings for your records. Check the comparison and affected report again after a correction.

Need a hand?

Send the two reading dates and units, the vehicle and the differing totals, plus your app version. A description is enough; do not send your whole trip log unless you choose to.
