SUPPORT / HOW TO

Put a missing drive back in your log

A missing trip can sometimes be rebuilt from what your iPhone recorded. When it cannot, you can enter the drive yourself.

Check the date before adding anything

A trip can seem missing because a filter hides it. Check the dated Trips list first. The Missed drives screen compares recorded trips with the motion history available on this iPhone; it cannot prove that every drive was captured.

  1. Open Trips and clear any date, type or vehicle filter that excludes the drive.
  2. Open For you → Missed drives and look for the matching time.
  3. If it was not a car journey, choose Not a drive for that entry.

Rebuild a matching drive

Recover uses the phone’s available movement history and Apple Maps to build a likely road route. It needs a connection, and the result is an estimate rather than an original GPS recording. A failed recovery stays listed so you can decide what to do next.

  1. Tap Recover beside the matching drive and wait for the result.
  2. Open the recovered trip in Trips; check endpoints, distance, vehicle and type.
  3. Correct the details you know before including it in a report.

Enter a drive that cannot be rebuilt

Use Add by Hand on an unrecoverable entry, or Trips → Add a past trip when there is no matching entry. If the phone was off or had no usable history, recovery cannot invent it. Prefilled times, addresses or distance still need your review.

  1. Set the actual start and end date and time.
  2. Enter distance in the unit shown, the departure and arrival, type and vehicle. Save the trip.
  3. Check it in the dated list. A manually added trip counts in reports, with its origin noted.

04 / 04

Fix the cause of repeated misses

Open Tracking & permissions and resolve any warning. An older gap can age beyond the recovery window; use your own records to add it if needed.

  1. Check the tracking guide for permissions, detection and Low Power Mode.
  2. If gaps continue, note the date, approximate time and what the tracking status shows. Contact support with the app version.
