SUPPORT / HOW TO

Label trips by client or project

Use consistent text to explain what a trip was for. In DriveHub, a tag and the typed purpose use the same trip field.

Choose an existing tag or enter your own text

Open a saved trip and find Purpose or What was this trip for? The exact layout depends on the screen: it may offer tag chips, New tag or Or type a tag. These all edit the same text; choosing a new tag replaces the previous purpose or tag.

  1. Read the existing text before changing it. Keep any necessary detail in the replacement.
  2. Choose an existing chip, or use New tag and enter the client, project or actual purpose. Save or finish editing as offered by that screen.
  3. Reopen the trip and verify the saved text. Tapping a selected tag chip again removes it.

Keep names consistent and review suggestions

DriveHub offers tags from your trip history and can suggest a tag from previous trips. A suggestion still needs checking. Differences such as case and repeated spaces may resolve to an existing tag, so changing only capitalization is not a reliable way to create a separate project.

  1. Reuse an existing chip for the same client or project instead of typing a new spelling each time.
  2. Use clearly distinct names for distinct projects, and read any explanation accompanying a suggested tag before applying it.
  3. If a suggestion is wrong, choose or enter the correct text. Check the final saved value rather than assuming the suggestion was accepted.

Apply the same text to a selected group

Review Trips offers Tag → an existing tag, New tag or Remove Tag when the selection contains text. Applying or removing a tag changes that field on every selected trip. It does not change the trip’s business or personal type.

  1. Open Review Trips from report preparation, check the period and filter, and select only trips sharing the same purpose.
  2. Choose Tag and the desired entry, or New tag to enter one. Preserve different visit details by editing those trips individually.
  3. Open a few changed trips and verify the text. Use Remove Tag only when you want to clear that text on the whole selected group.

Check how the purpose appears in the file

The saved tag or purpose is used in report output. A short project label may be useful for organisation, but it may not explain the actual visit sufficiently for the recipient. Use the report requirements shown for your country and confirm the information your employer or accountant needs.

  1. Check that business trips contain the real purpose, including visit details where needed.
  2. Create a report for the right period and inspect the purpose or tag text in the preview and exported file.
  3. If you revise a trip’s text, export a new file. Previously saved reports do not update automatically.
